I~~~'m stuck. 32k of words, and I have no idea what to write next. Or perhaps, don't want to write anything next. Sigh.
And I can tell that this story was originally supposed to be in manga format easily. The quick scene changes, the number of characters, the over-reactions of the characters... Fairly typical of manga and anime. Especially all the bickering and teasing that goes on.
And damn, but my characters wince, flinch, gulp, and swallow a lot. Sigh. And widen and narrow their eyes. And sigh, come to think of it.
Argh. The drabbles have helped a little. Drabbles being what I call out-of-context oneliners and paragraphs that pop up in my head, and occasionally lend themselves to another 500 towards the word count. Occasionally.
Best one so far? (And possible the least useful):

On a completely different note, I've noticed my scenes jump around, and quickly. I've noticed this in my writing before, but it doesn't usually bother me... Except that I can't think of a really good way to make the transistion.

So, I have a post I've been meaning to do. There are two groups in my story, with names I am not happy about. I was wondering if anyone wanted to suggest something?
One is a government formed anti-terrorist group, and the other is a rebellious (terrorist) group.
One, written with the japanese characters I originally chose, is written "Wise-hopeful-wish", except one character change makes it "wise-cataclysmic-wish". The other group is written for with the characters for "Humanitarian", but changing the very last character sort of turns it into "Enemy of the people."
I'm asking for help because I'm not entirely sure how to keep the slightly, um... reversible names when I change them.
So, any suggestions? |

So the biggest problem by far, is trying to figure out viewpoints. I originally planned this to be a manga, in which you can show a few pages of just dialog or just one shot of an unknown character for foreshadowing, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to adapt this to a novel format. It's also hard to show the bad guys in a normal format, for me. Most good novels I read are written strictly from one or two viewpoints, but that won't work with the social setups and plot points and everything...
Manga is great. You can show a few pages of whichever group you choose, but the viewpoint is always the reader's own, so you don't get confused the way you would with a book *sigh*
This said, I have no idea how to show certain bits of the story that I want to show ;_; |

It's occured to me that another major change, this time for Field of Stars, has happened in the past month or two. It has certainly cleared up some plot holes and confusion for me!
All I can say is, you gotta love any group that is simply known as "The Organization".

Well, first update. Mmm, yeah. After this, I'm going to switch to friends-only, just for the sake of my poor paranoia (/pats it on the head)
The home of my writing. Huh. Scary. Soon I'll post the prolouge I wrote for the story years ago (which won't go towards my nanowrimo word count, as I wrote it before November), but right now I'm not sure where the most recent version is. Well, actually, I lost version 2.6, the most recent I've been able to find is 2.4... But after 2.0 or so it was all nit-picky changes anyway. Changes I liked, but not ones that are super important.
Hmm, warnings. Not sure yet. Probably violence, certaintly bad language, and probably adult situations (though no sex scenes or anything - those will go in the side stories after, lol) Probably at least one homosexual couple somewhere. Eventually.
Oh, and me gloating like a crazy person. Oh wait, I am a crazy person. Huh. |
